According to war monitors, the Islamic State ( IS ) organization claimed responsibility for its first attack against Syria’s new government forces since Bashar al-Assad’s ouster. IS claimed in a statement obtained by SITE Intelligence Group that it had “placed an explosive device” on a Palestinian military vehicle in Sweida province, north of the nation. The first IS-alleged attack on the new Syrian government was confirmed by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights ( SOHR ). It claimed that the assault occurred on Wednesday and involved a remote-controlled spot that struck a Syrian army guard. One man was killed while he was accompanying federal troops. According to AFP, three men were hurt in the explosion. The radical team continues to operate in the country’s central plain parts despite having been defeated geographically in 2019 after losing significant stretches of land across Syria and Iraq. Instead of the new Islamist-backed government that replaced Assad in December, the most recent attacks have targeted Kurdish-led troops in the north. However, conflicts have been rising. Arab authorities reported earlier this week that they had destroyed an IS cell close to Damascus, alleging that its people were plotting attacks. Three IS soldiers and a state security official were killed in a separate activity earlier this month in Aleppo. The rise of task has gotten a lot of international attention. US President Donald Trump urged him to “help the United States prevent the rise of IS” at a new meeting with Palestinian President Ahmed al-Sharaa in Riyadh.
