Google has added a new function to its Gemini AI assistant that makes it possible to examine video files and extract important insights without having to see them in full. Gemini’s capabilities inside Google Drive did grow past just PDFs and documents, allowing you to enable it to create video summaries, remove action items, and respond to certain questions about video content without playing the file.

Google wrote in its Workspace Updates website that” Video contain a wealth of knowledge, but going back to watch them may be time consuming.” Customers can use Gemini with this update to get their films ‘ needs much more quickly.

Automated subtitles from Google Drive videos are used to analyze video for Gemini. When a video is being viewed, you can ask Gemini by clicking the” Ask Gemini” star icon. The feature is accessible via a separate document viewer that opens a new computer tab as well as the in-app feature previewer.

When and by whom is it obtained?

Users with the following plans will have access to the new function from Gemini’s rolling over slowly in stages starting May 28 with entire deployment beginning June 16:

    • Google Workspace Business Standard and Plus
    • Google Workspace Enterprise Standard and Plus
    • Gemini Education Premium and Gemini Education Education add-ons
    • Google One AI Premium
    • Gemini Business or Business add-ons previously purchased

This movie feature is only available in English at the time of its release, and it uses Google’s automatically generated captions to perceive sound content. For video stored in Drive, captions are standard, but administrators of managed Workspace accounts may have more specific message settings.

Google is likewise introducing new film proposal analysis in addition to AI-driven video reports. Each video’s Details panel then displays the number of items that have been opened. This provides a straightforward but practical way to monitor user activity and action.

Google also announced a significant update for programmers at the late concluded Google I/O function in California, including the inclusion of Gemini 2.5 Pro AI into Android Studio. Developers can use Gemini for agentic AI tasks, such as tracking user adventures across both real Android devices and digital test environments.
