The White House’s supporters are using Donald Trump‘s presidency’s pending blanket pardons as justification for the ongoing wave of mercy requests.

Former President Joe Biden, despite vowing not to do so before in his name, issued a complete and non-time-restricted reprimand to his brother Hunter Biden as well as to his relatives — , James, Francis, and Valerie Biden— and their families. White House officials declined to comment on the timing or justification for Trump’s string of clemency moves.
In response to the criticism, DOJ spokesman Chad Gilmartin responded to the criticism by saying that” Joe Biden gave his son a blanket pardon for any federal crimes committed over the course of a decade.”
