Donald Trump, leader, claimed on Friday that China” Essentially” violated a trade deal with the US.
Trump made this claim just days after the two countries briefly eased taxes. Trump made no specific recommendations for how China would go about breaking the deal.  ,
I made a FAST DEAL with China to prevent what I believed would turn out to be a very poor thing, and I didn’t want that to occur. Due to this agreement, everything stabilized swiftly, and China resumed normal operations,” Trump claimed on Truth Social.  ,
The awful news is that China has utterly violated its partnership with us, which is, unsurprising to some, surprising. Thank you for being” Mr. NICE GUY”! he continued.
The U.S. reduced tariffs on Chinese imports to 30 % from 145 % under the agreement. China also lowered its tariffs on U.S. imports by 10 %. This arrangement was to be in effect for 90 days.
On Friday, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer echoed Trump’s claim, telling CNBC that” we’re really concerned with” China’s alleged violation.
The United States “did what it was supposed to do,” Greer continued, and the Chinese are” delayed rolling their compliance.”
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated on Thursday that trade negotiations with China had” stalled.”
TRUMP TARIFFS ARE IMMEDIATELY DESTINED FOR SUPREME COURT SHOWDOWN
They are a little stalled, in my opinion. I think we will be talking to them more in the coming months, and I think we might have a phone with [ Chinese Communist Party Chair Xi],” Bessent said.
Before the two nations reached the 90-day arrangement, it appeared as though industry between them was on the verge of a halt. In the weeks following Trump’s announcement of his “reciprocal tariff” of 145 %  , U.S. ports experienced a sharp drop in shipments from China. Due to the tariffs, Chinese factories experienced the worst quarterly decline in over a season in April.
