Rodney Shippy, 58, fatally shot his 10-year-old child and the home dog before committing suicide inside their home. After family reported Rodney’s 20-year-old child, Alyssa Shippy, missing since November, police made the terrible revelation on Wednesday while issuing a seek warrant. Initial discoveries by investigators included the body of Rodney, his brother Logan, and the dog. Afterward, the same house where Alyssa’s body was discovered. Her bones were not immediately obvious because of the house’s state, according to police. A medical examiner is trying to determine her cause of death. Their family wrote on a GoFundMe page,” We are heartbroken to share that two dearly missed family members, Alyssa and Logan ( brother and sister ), passed away tragically and unexpectedly. Their reduction has left our family grieving terribly and ready for the costs associated with planning their funerals, they continued. This is the most recent tragedy to strike the home in a row. Lisa Shippy, Rodney’s family, passed away in her own at the same home in August 2022. Diane Carpenter, Lisa’s family, was stabbed to death by her father, Kenny Carpenter, who later committed suicide in a policeman conflict in January 2023, according to the New York Post. The horrible deaths have no known cause. Public records, however, indicate that Rodney Shippy was having significant economic issues. He and his family had purchased the house in 2021, and it was in danger of repossession. The US Bank National Association issued a foreclosure notice in January citing unpaid principal of$ 135, 000. According to court records, Shippy had until June to listen to the notice. Neighborhoods are now sharing that Logan Shippy, 10, had dementia and wasn’t verbal as the investigation progressed. They cited poor living conditions and criticized the family’s home as being” not suitable” for children. ” No suitable for a baby, no running water, garbage- looked like a completely different house,” said equivalent Patti Williams. She added that Rodney tried to keep things up after his wife Lisa’s death, but over time he started distancing himself from people.
