Seeing the mild once more…?
Following a mid-week selection by the California Interscholastic Federation, there will be more girls competing in the California high school track and field tournaments this weekend than originally planned.
The CIF announced the next “pilot plan” for the long leap and triple jump competition this season, according to KTVU: AB Hernández from Jurupa Valley High School and President Trump’s message on Truth Social.
The 2025 CIF State Track and Field Championships were offered to a ny natural women student-athlete who would have earned the second qualifying level for one of their Segment’s automatic qualifying entries for the CIF State meet but did not achieve the CIF State at-large mark in the finals of their Section meet.
The Freight stated that it “believes” that the software “accompanies the participation possibilities” for student athletes.
The report notes that the changes just apply to this week’s championships and aren’t clear if they only apply to trans athletes ‘ events or to every competition.
In part, President Trump said in a message that” California continues to ILLEGALLY allow MEN to play in women’s sports[ …] Please be advised that large scale Federal funding will be slowed, possibly permanently, if the Executive Order on this subject matter is not adhered to.”
Trump also made note ( rightly ) that Governor Newsom recently remarked that the participation of” transgender girls” in girls ‘ sports is “deeply unfair.”
According to Jim Geraghty, the CIF news was “entirely coincidental,” according to Newsom’s business. Regardless of the circumstances, Geraghty claims that given California’s politics, the CIF selection is very important.
It’s the first time anyone in the Californian education system has acknowledged that transgender students and their parents may have a legitimate complaint through their actions and coverage choices. The CIF is acknowledging, through the rules and procedures, that there is a distinction between an athlete who was born man and an athlete who was born woman by adding another slot for “any biological women student-athlete” who would have qualified if the transgender swimmer had no competed. …
Up until yesterday, the CIF held the view that there was no valid or justifiable reason to take part in [trans ] athletes.
In fact, Geraghty points out that the CIF had even categorized discrimination against trans athletes as “discrimination” in its” Gender Diverse Youth Sport Inclusivity Toolkit.”
According to the KTVU report, Democratic politicians recently blocked bills that would have prohibited biological males from competing in girls ‘ sports in the state legislature.
Both Trump and the California Interscholastic Federation were criticized by the LGBTQ+ rights organization Equality California, who claimed the latter needed to maintain its “inclusive, evidence-based policies.”
