Not a reasonable humanitarian aid, the USAID cuts were specifically intended to eliminate waste and corruption. No sensible tax would willingly finance programs that have been financed by billions, perhaps even trillions, of dollars destined for foreign aid. That is precisely what DOGE is aiming for. It’s about putting an end to the misuse of the program so that people who need real assist are actually able to get it. Also Bono, who has spent decades supporting global comfort, would have expected to welcome an effort to clean the house.
