Muhammad Yunus invites parties for fresh talks on poll
Muhammad Yunus, the head of Bangladesh, is at center.

Days after the ex-pm Khaleda Zia-led BNP held a large rally to demand an early election, which should be held by December 1st, Bangladesh’s interim government brain Muhammad Yunus has invited social parties for a new discussion on the pending regional vote. BNP claimed Yunus had “failed” to fulfill his promise to hold an early election and that the government’s transformation process in relation to the surveys was a “farce.” How many days did you start these reform discussions? Salahuddin Ahmed, a part of the BNP standing commission, posed a question. In a split program, analyst Debapriya Bhattacharya, a distinguished fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue, noted growing investor arousal as a result of the absence of meaningful dialogue between the interim government and the political factions.
