Three issues on which Trump has done a total 180 compared to his first term

Trump’s statement was dramatically different from his earlier criticism of Nippon’s plan to acquire the Pittsburgh-based metal conglomerate last year. He said in a speech in early December,” As chairman, I will stop this offer from happening.”

However, the president made fun of the fact that once the deal is finalized, U.S. Steel workers would have” a lot of money coming]their ] way.”

It’s a lot of money, they say. You’re going to say,” Choose, dear, we don’t want this kind of victory.” It’s too much, dear, Trump remarked. The moniker United States Steel has been associated with glory for generations, and it will once more be associated with greatness. The best and strongest metal on Earth will become that’s what it’s going to be.

Since ascending the beautiful stairway at Trump Tower almost a decade ago, the president has vehemently changed his mind on a number of issues. However, now that he is four times into his second term, Trump has taken a hard, 180-degree change on three distinct subjects: abortion, TikTok, and the management of Iran. &nbsp,

TRUMP DIRECTS PITTSBURGH STEEL WORKERS THAT HE WILL DOUBLE THE TARIFFS ON STEEL COMING IN TO US FROM 25 % TO 50 %.

Multiple top Republican managers with close ties to the Trump administration refrained from disclosing those changes, suggesting that the president has “evolved” since he left the White House in 2021.

One former Republican strategy officer said,” I’d disagree with the idea that President Trump has changed little, if at all, on the major issues — business, immigration, law and order.” ” Nevertheless, I believe that he has at least evolved in some of the circumstances you mentioned. But that’s what the best officials do: absorb fresh ideas and learn from it. Donald Trump has evolved along with it, even though the world is very different now than it was when he entered the White House for the first time.

Three GOP strategists, all of whom had prior experience in the first Trump White House or on his political campaigns, claimed that the 2024 test on Trump’s existence, which took place only one hour north of the conversation area, probably had a significant impact on the president’s thinking.

” The Butler assassination attempt had a significant influence on him,” according to President Trump. He’s been a mediator this time around and has made a claim in the Ukraine and Gaza,” according to a planner.

A minute Trump student told the Washington Examiner,” When something like that happens, you start to think about legacy.” How may I be remembered? What will make me feel remembered? You can tell from the way he has handled himself around another world leaders.

However, two other former Trump administration officers who did not support him in the 2024 vote reversed Trump’s elevation.

” Donald Trump is the only one.” One writer blatantly criticized him for saying or doing whatever he thinks will benefit him politically.

This is pure insanity, but changing your mind on some concerns isn’t unusual. He can’t commit to anything, the next former Trump official continued, “or sometimes simply believes in nothing.” If the nation and national surveillance weren’t in danger, it would be almost funny.

Here are three instances of how Trump’s second-term opportunities have changed significantly in comparison to his first word.

    1. Blog

Trump has half increased the deadline for ByteDance to promote the wildly popular social media app TikTok to an American consumer or face a ban from operating on U.S. ground since taking office in January. He has particularly appointed Vice President JD Vance to direct the effort to broker a deal between Beijing, ByteDance, and American shareholders, and the president has also suggested that the federal government might leave with a fractional ownership interest.

Trump’s campaign heavily relied on TikTok on the campaign trail, growing his @realdonaldtrump account to roughly 15 million followers after it launched in 2024. The president himself has suggested that his popularity on the app led to voter support at the polls, particularly among young voters.

If ByteDance doesn’t divest within 45 days, Trump signed an executive order in 2020 to ban TikTok in the United States. ByteDance and the Trump administration engaged in legal battle after receiving the order, and it was ultimately overturned by a California district court in September of that year.

After Joe Biden signed a bill into law requiring ByteDance to divest or be forced to stop operating in the United States, Trump would then declare his opposition to the ban on TikTok in 2024.

    2. Abortion

In the general election last year, Democrats feared that abortion would turn out to be a crucial wedge issue. Trump himself had taken credit for the Supreme Court’s deliberations of Roe v. Wade via the Dobbs decision, and the topic had helped toss Republican hopes of winning both congressional majorities in the 2022 midterm elections.

Additionally, the president himself supported a Senate bill in 2018 that would impose a 20-week ban on abortions after delivery.

Trump, however, stood up to requests from anti-abortion organizations and other Republican lawmakers to codify a national abortion ban during the 2024 cycle. In his debate with former vice president Kamala Harris, the president argued that abortion was a state’s issue and pledged to veto any national abortion ban legislation if it passes his desk in a second term.

The president has signed a number of executive orders that restrict federal funding for reproductive health facilities, but he has not taken any action that would suggest further restrictions on abortion across the country.

    3. Iran

Trump’s campaign’s main promise was that he would withdraw the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the nuclear deal negotiated by former US president Barack Obama and Tehran.

Trump frequently referred to the JCPOA as” the worst deal ever negotiated,” but he eventually accepted the offer and made a deal-reversal in the spring of 2018. The president replaced it with a “maximum pressure” campaign that aimed to destabilize Iran’s economy, stifle its ability to support terrorist cells in the Middle East, and launch a “maximum pressure” campaign.

Trump reaffirmed his commitment to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons in January, but he has since lifted the dogs. &nbsp,

Trump, however, sent a letter to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, urging him to calm the situation and reopen negotiations on a new nuclear deal just last month. Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East and other U.S. officials met with their Iranian counterparts for five rounds of negotiations over the course of the next eight weeks, while the president has also warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a close ally, against carrying out military action against Iran and risking derailing the talks.

Trump added that this new agreement could come into effect in” the next couple of weeks” and that it won’t actually stop Iran’s nuclear program.

” We can enter with inspectors,” we say. We are free to do whatever we want. He said,” We can blow up anything we want.” However, “nobody is dying.”

The White House refuted the notion that the president has made any adjustments to the aforementioned points.

A White House official on TikTok claimed the president had” commented plenty” regarding his views on the website and that Vance’s push was an “ongoing investigation” and that his push was” commented plenty” with the Washington Examiner.

The official claimed that Trump has “always been tough on them not having nuclear weapons” in response to Trump’s recent peace negotiations with Tehran.

He continued,” He has always been ready to look anyone in the eye and bring peace to the area.” He has always advocated for peace through strength, but he has also always been willing to go to these nations and negotiate, or even to meet with him.

ALLIES SAY BIDEN GAVE TRUMP THE” GREEN LIGHT” FOR PARDON BLITZ.

The official claimed that Trump has always maintained that he views abortion as a state issue. They came to the conclusion that” He has nominated judges and implemented policies in that capacity.”
