Steve Witkoff, the US special envoy to the Middle East, criticized Hamas ‘ response to a proposed ceasefire agreement with Israel, calling it” totally unacceptable” and saying it “only brings us backward.” It is completely unethical and only leads to aversion. The US plan calls for a 60-day stalemate during which Hamas did relieve 10 living Jewish hostages and transfer the bodies of 18, according to CNN.” Hamas should take the framework proposal we put forth as the basis for proximity talks. In trade, Israel would release from Gaza 121 Israeli prisoners serving life sentences and 111 other prisoners. Hassa, who shared its position with negotiators Qatar and Egypt, demanded a continuous ceasefire, a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and more support for those living in the area. As part of the deal, the organization stated that it would relieve the victims. According to Witkoff, Hamas ‘ only course of action was to accept the current plan, which was supported by the US and approved by Israel, in order for conversations to start. In the coming days, when half of the existing hostages and quarter of those who are deceased may return to their families, and when we can hold substantial talks in good faith to try to achieve a permanent ceasefire, he continued in his article. On the first day of the 60-day peace, according to the US plan, negotiations for a continuous peace should start. It does not, however, promise a ceasefire expansion or a permanent end to the conflict beyond the 60-day mark.
