Kurt Muse was freed from a jail in Panama in December 1989 by the Delta Force’s Operation Acid Gambit, according to a report shared on Thursday by Larry Vickers, a veteran of the United States Army and former Delta Force controller.
In a Thursday interview with Shawn Ryan, Vickers explained that Muse’s save as part of Operation Acid Gambit was a risky hostage rescue effort because a prison guard threatened to kill the captive if the US attempted to save him from Panama’s La Comandancia jail. Muse was imprisoned in Panama for leading the opposition to Manuel Noriega, the former tyrant, according to The Army’s site.
