In response to rising tensions over a classified UN report that revealed Iran’s growing stockpile of uranium enriched close to weapons-grade levels, Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi spoke with IAEA ( IAEA ) head Rafael Mariano Grossi early on Sunday. Araghchi stated in a blog on Telegram that he reaffirmed Iran’s” constant assistance” with the UN’s nuclear watchdog during the visit. He also urged Grossi to make sure “certain parties” don’t use the company to carry out “political agendas against the Persian individuals.” The IAEA hasn’t made any public remarks about the telephone call. Iran becoming” the only non-nuclear-weapons position to make such material,” according to the IAEA report, which was made available by the Associated Press. According to the report, Iran had a stockpiled 408,6 pounds of uranium enriched up to 60 % as of May 17; that is almost 50 % more than the stockpiled in February. A technological advancement from the 90 percent required for nuclear weapons is the addition of uranium to 60 percent. Araghchi claimed that all nuclear actions were being conducted in accordance with existing contracts and under the control of the agency, but the statement also pointed out that Iran’s assistance had been “less than satisfactory,” particularly in regards to uranium traces discovered at hidden places. Iranian deputy foreign secretary Kazem Gharibabadi responded on Sunday by responding back, saying that there is no reason to be concerned about the IAEA’s problems. Iran’s Islamic Republic isn’t interested in developing nuclear arms, nor is it interested in developing any illegal nuclear activities. He added that 493 of the 682 checks carried out by the Npt across 32 nations took place in Iran. Iranian officials met with Iranian officials in Tehran soon after Muscat foreign secretary Badr al-Busaidi, who was coordinating indirect negotiations between Iran and the US. In an effort to rekindle discussions aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear advancement in exchange for sanctions pleasure, he presented Washington’s most recent proposal. What al-Busaidi called” some but not compelling progress” came to an end last week in Rome’s most new round of discussions.
