School Districts Spent $19M of Federal Funding on DEI

Instead, dozens of school districts woken up and spent more than$ 9 million of taxpayer-funded federal funding for poor children.

According to a recent report from Defending Education, 60 school districts contracted with organizations and consultants to create diversity, equity, and inclusion ( DEI ) programs, spending$ 19, 632, 938.90 in federal funding was actually done. With our taxpayer dollars, the districts also received funding for “restorative justice,” sex-based initiatives, “equitable grading practices,” and” social emotional learning” ( SEL). Except that the Elementary and Secondary Education Act ( ESEA ) provided the federal funding, which was specifically intended to assist low-income students rather than instruct them to focus on skin color and sexual identity.

Defending Education clarified that the amount of federal funding that is intended to support low-income students ‘ increased success is almost certainly much, much higher than$ 19 million. However, Defending Education is unable to provide a more accurate measure because the majority of school districts do not disclose where the funds they spend on DEI and other forms of left hypnosis are spent.

Hence, the report from Defending Education provides a crucial but largely unfinished look at the use of taxpayer money in woke school districts. Yet the partial insight is quite unsettling:

For instance, Elk Grove Unified School District ( CA ) &nbsp used Title I funds to pay a nonprofit that had raised more than$ 4 million to help with programming for “young men of color”. For equitable grading professional development, the Hayward Unified School District ( CA ) used Title funding to pay a consultant. Additionally, this city used Title I funds to pay a very contentious consultant, Woke Kindergarten,$ 200,000. Additionally, several districts gave over$ 200,000 to Panorama Education for their social emotional learning survey platform.

Title I, Title II, IDEA money, and all other offers that Defending Education looked at were actually illegal, but they should only be used for what has been particularly approved for, which isn’t woke propagandizing.

More instances of the misused national revenue were provided in Defending Education:

17 school districts paid$ 1, 427, 721.70, and$ 2, 427, respectively, for the Social Emotional Learning survey platform used by Panorama Education.

Elk Grove Unified School District ( CA ) provided$ 4, 477, and$ 410 to Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc. to help with programming for “young men of color.” The Los Angeles Unified School District ( CA ) claims that it allocated$ 16 million ($ 16 million ) for social emotional learning during the 2024-2019 school year,$ 3, 000,000 of which is being withdrawn from Title I funding…

A racial equity consultant was funded by$ 680, 000 of Title II funding at Indianapolis Public Schools ( IN ).

The report includes additional cases, but the message is currently obvious. The Trump presidency should look into yet another area of widespread abuse and serious problem.
