Major White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett made the suggestion on Sunday that President Donald Trump and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping may speak this week.
As the clock ticks down on the two nations ‘ negotiated 90-day tax pause, Trump is expected to speak with Xi as part of their larger trade agreement conversations.
” We anticipate that President Trump and President Xi will have a great talk about the business negotiations this week. That’s what we want, he said.
Hassett said he wasn’t sure if the talks did take place this week, but that he wasn’t sure if there was a particular date set for them. You always know in international relations, but I’m hoping both flanks have shown a willingness to talk. And I’d like to add that people are conversing with one another every evening, so President Xi’s group, along with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, are conversing with them in China.

Additionally, Scott Bessent, the secretary of state for foreign affairs, stated on Sunday that Xi and Trump would speak “very immediately.”
When President Trump and [ Chinese Communist Party Chairman Xi have a contact, he said,” I am convinced that this will be resolved.” However, the fact that they are withholding some of the products they agreed to discharge during our partnership may be due to a problem in the Foreign system or intentional behavior.
Bessent recently claimed that China’s negotiations with the United States had stalled. To prevent a further intensification of their trade war, which may cause higher consumer prices for goods the United States imports from China, the two parties are attempting to reach a trade agreement.
HIGH INTEREST RATES FOR DEBT RISES COULD BEEVIL TRUMP.
China claimed earlier this month that the two leaders had not gotten a visit “recently.”
Trump hasn’t spoken with Xi in public since a few days before his opening. If there isn’t a consensus between the two parties, the United States could return to its 145 % tariff on Chinese goods and China could impose its 12 % levy on some American goods.
