Over the past ten years, Stanford University has received at least”$ 64 million in Chinese money.”
Federal politicians and individuals are under new investigation for the Chinese Communist Party’s influence on American institutions, as Stanford organizations receive tens of millions of dollars in revenue from the country.
In a letter to the common institutions, federal lawmakers also expressed concern about the impact of the socialist nation on the University of California System and State University of New York.
U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg stated in a new statement to The College Fix that” the CCP is using higher education to undermine our federal safety.”
Walberg’s issues were reportedly fueled by a new research by Stanford University undergraduate journalists, who claimed they discovered evidence of Taiwanese espionage on the campus.
The Stanford Review artists who broke the story on May 7 shared more with The Fix in a new email interview with Garret Molloy and Elsa Johnson.
Molloy and Johnson provide an explanation for Stanford’s significance in terms of the Chinese Communist Party’s rely on AI systems.
The controversy was described in their article as a “kind of rhino in the room” at the famous organization. The article states that “internal concerns about Chinese spy have slowly persisted at Stanford for years.”
In their content, Molloy and Johnson state that” Transnational persecution,$ 64 million in Chinese cash, and complaints of racial stereotyping have contributed to a widespread tradition of solitude at Stanford and beyond.
We have been met with a good welcome on campus, according to Molloy, who acknowledged the CCP’s appearance on campus despite initially reluctance. Alumni and learners have sent numerous emails expressing their opinions and supporting the findings of our research.
Nevertheless, some people did criticize the research.
Three Hoover Institution colleagues acknowledged there is” cause for concern” in a May 9 letter to the editor that was published in the Stanford Review, but they also reaffirmed that there is “fear.” A Stanford public policy institute whose main focus is on completely thought and economic opportunity.
Like many of its gaze institutions, Stanford is a high-value goal for espionage and vile foreign interference. However, it is better prepared than most to prevent its analysis, university, and students, including Asiatic Americans, according to institute writers Matthew Turpin, Matt Pottinger, and Larry Diamond.
Because the Hoover Institution “has one of the leading jobs in the US to study and improve the safety and integrity of our study business,” they wrote that Stanford is truly prepared to deal with foreign effect.
Additionally, they argued that” we must be careful not to double-dip ourselves into the many scholars from China who are trying to navigate the growing geopolitical pressures, who deeply appreciate the opportunity to study in the US and even settle here because ( a Chinese student who spoke at the 2017 University of Maryland commencement ) they can breathe” the fresh air of free speech” and democracy.”
In a speech, the school itself denies the spy information.
Congressman Walberg, the head of the House Committee on Education and Workforce, is just one of the national politicians whose attention the student newspaper’s investigation has garnered, among others, provincial officials.
The Republican called for the Deterrent Act‘s section in a May 15 press release, which would involve more” accountability for donations to British institutions from international sources.”
According to Walberg,” We should be loud and clear: Malicious foreign influence that goes unnoticed is a threat to both students and American national security.”
The University of California System and the State University of New York were both affected by” Chinese invasion” at the time when Reps. Roger Williams and Brian Babin wrote a letter to them.
The Education and Workforce Committee’s director, Audra McGeorge, stated in an internet last week that” there haven’t been any significant improvements since” sending the words.
McGeorge told The Fix that the Senate” may pass the DETERRENT Act” and that politicians could use various strategies to stop Chinese invasion at the college level.

She even cited a Walberg quotation from the text. The UC and SUNY methods are more instances of colleges and universities taking center stage of this conflict, according to Walberg. The nation needs to take powerful legislative steps to make these institutions more accessible to the public as we continue our investigation of these institutions.
The nonpartisan DETERRENT Act, which was passed by the House, should be passed by the Senate. The senator said,” I look forward to supporting my fellow council chairsmen in another important reforms to improve transparency and accountability.”
The letter to Walberg, Moolenaar, and their colleagues “exhorted the school systems to work together to prevent our international adversaries from gaining access to development developed by our little businesses.”
Concerned about Chinese communist leaders ‘ efforts to “acquire sensitive technology through the Small Business Innovation Research ( SBIR ) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR ) programs at their institutions, the lawmakers asked the lawmakers for information from both universities.
Over the past two weeks, The College Fix contacted the internet connections departments at the State University of New York and the University of California via email half to request their response to the letter, but neither of them responded.
U.S. Senator Ashley Moody also expressed concern about the recent Stanford Review research and suggested a different approach on the U.S. Senate area.
She wrote on X,” The CCP has infiltrated National colleges.” To safeguard this nation, we must complete the STOP CCP VISAS Act. The bill had “interject” the entrance of nonresident students from China.
How may we continue to grant 300, 000 student visa to Chinese citizens every year when we KNOW they are officially required to gather intelligence for the CCP, Moody said in a picture of her speaking to Fox News. The plain truth is that we can’t.
