
A suspect in Virginia has been apprehended in Virginia for the caught-on-video describe of an off-duty NYPD officer who robbed his pocket and pistol, according to cops who said on Tuesday.
According to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, who works with the NYPD, U.S. Marshals used the cuffs belonging to the wounded officer when they took 23-year-old Taveon Hargrove into prison. His friend is still at large.
She wrote,” He is now in the restraints of the commander he assaulted, after he was taken into custody this morning in Virginia.” One must go, one under.
Hargrove will most likely encounter attempted death, rape, and assault charges if he is extradited back to New York.
After Taveon was found using one of the beaten officer’s credit cards, officers on Sunday detained his father, Jeffrey Hargrove, 55, for minor burglary and unlawful possession of stolen property.
Around 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, the commander was returning home from work when Taveon is accused of being one of the two muggers who attacked the 27-year-old police commander in Westchester Square.
The victim was left with a broken orbital bone after being consistently punched in the face by one of the crooks during the violent mugging, according to police. One of the fraudsters turns up after searching through the officer’s pouches as the sufferer lay helplessly on the ground and stomps on his mind, as seen on the remarkable video obtained by the New York Daily News.
According to police, Jeffrey Hargrove was detained early on Sunday after being reportedly caught using one of the victim’s credit accounts.
When two of the two fraudsters approached him, threatened him with a knife, and then proceeded to beat him unconscious, according to police, the officer was wearing a civil suit over his uniform when they came home from work.
Police released a wanted poster for Taveon Hargrove on Sunday, a few hours after his parents was detained, and called him “extremely dangerous.”
Police have not yet identified the different believe.
After being arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court on Sunday, Jeffrey Hargrove was released without parole.
