Prior to the arrest, ICE officers learned that” The Alamo” league, which was being run by the Los Zetas cartel, was a haven for weapons, drug trafficking, and other crimes. Authorities seized money, drugs, and firearms while conducting the operation, along with six juveniles who had been turned over to express social services.

In a statement announcing the procedure on Tuesday, Assistant Department of Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated that” the brave men and women of ICE are working with local law enforcement to preserve American communities safe. More than 70 illegal aliens were arrested as a result of the successful operation in the Charleston area, including a national murder suspect and the destruction of a bar run by a presumed gang member where medicine, weapons, and human smuggling were occurring.

Stephen Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff, criticized top DHS and ICE officers for their small arrest and imprisonment rates, just weeks before the statue.

Sergio Joel Galo-Baca, an illegal immigrant from Honduras with an active INTERPOL Red Notice for homicide in his native country, was apprehended following the operation. &nbsp,

The Trump administration earlier this year designated the Mexican crime organization Cartel del Noreste as a terrorist organization.
