Vance addressed the audience at a fifth anniversary celebration for the Washington think tank American Compass, which has only 12 people and includes Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, and Vance.
The banquet, which took place at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., featured Vance and Rubio as featured speakers. Since American Compass was founded five years ago, both outlined how economical thinking on the appropriate has changed.

Vance said that companies that make goods tend to be good at designing them, making the case that more items need to be built in the U.S.
He said it would take 20 years to return the nation to a sensible economic policy.
