Political shift: Karine Jean-Pierre quits Democratic Party; Biden-era press secretary’s memoir to detail ‘broken' White House, says publisher

According to the publisher of the book, Kathleen Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary under Joe Biden‘s administration ( 1921-2025 ), has left the Democratic Party and is writing a candid memoir about the “broken” White House she once served. Jean-Pierre didn’t take her choice to be an Independent quietly. Obama and Biden have served her two American president. She became Harris ‘ chief of staff and White House press secretary two years after joining Biden’s plan as a top adviser in 2020. She provides information on the publication Hachette Book Group’s website, providing information on the three months that led to Biden’s abandoning his bet for a second word and the Democratic Party’s treachery that led to his choice. The 50-year-old contacts senior, who was the first openly gay and Black woman to hold the position of press secretary, made it known that Legacy Lit, a Hachette Book Group impression, will release her reserve Independent: A Glance Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines on October 21. According to a statement obtained by the Associated Press, Jean-Pierre said on Wednesday,” Up until January 20, I was in charge of speaking on behalf of the President of the United States.” I was a secret member at noon that day, and like all Americans and many of our friends around the world, had to deal with what was to come next for our nation. I came to the conclusion that we must let go of the boxes because of the threat we face as a nation. According to the speech, we must be ready to practice the skills of creative thinking and strategic planning. Her publisher describes Jean-Pierre’s abrupt departure from the Democratic Party as a thoughtful transition rather than a abrupt transition. The memoir will cover the three weeks that led to Biden’s unexpected withdrawal from his 2024 re-election campaign, which Jean-Pierre attributes in part to a “betrayal by the Democratic Party” ( Betrayal by the Democratic Party ). The book apparently aims to introduce inside perspectives on preventing electoral propaganda and provides insights on why an increasing number of Americans are rejecting conventional party labels. The publisher’s statement begins with” a hard-hitting yet hopeful critique” about how to define being a part of the growing percentage of our divided electorate. In her White House tenure, Jean-Pierre faced persistent criticism, including” Why it can be worthwhile to carve out a political space more firmly rooted in personal beliefs than political affiliations,” as well as “what questions you need to ask yourself to determine where you fit politically.” Her repeated defenses of Biden’s mental acuity, including claims that the president was” sharp as ever” despite growing doubts, sparked skepticism both inside and outside the administration. In one contentious briefing, she claimed that the press corps had stoked her claim that Biden mentioned the late Republican congresswoman Jackie Walorski because she was” top of mind.” She also survived a late 2023 internal maneuver led by the then-White House communications chief Anita Dunn to remove her because she was unhappy with her performance. A White House insider said at the time that” She doesn’t have a grasp of the issues and doesn’t devote the time to learning.” Biden praised Jean-Pierre’s historic role as the first non-white and openly gay press secretary throughout. Jean-Pierre’s tenure came to an emotional halt in January with a major hostage release announcement that caused a row among aides. According to a source,” She basically said it was her goodbye party.” She reportedly promoted it as a celebration of her and her tenure, but it sadly pretended to be over significant breaking news. One senior Democrat defended the book as “proof of incompetence, not independence,” while another acknowledged they” can’t look away.” On Wednesday, Jean-Pierre herself teased the book on Instagram, urging readers to” stop thinking in boxes, think outside of our boxes, and not be so partisan.” In Independent, the book examines the perspectives of former presidents, including Scott McClellan’s 2008 bestseller What Happened, which famously criticized President George W. Bush’s leadership.
