The Chilean national authorities claim that Miguel Uribe, the president’s candidate, was shot on Saturday at a campaign event in Bogota’s Fontibon district. A suspected gunman has been apprehended, according to Bogota Mayor Carlos Galán. A small reportedly involved in the attack was apprehended at the picture and is currently receiving treatment for a knee injury, according to Colombian police captain Gen Carlos Triana. A rifle was recovered. According to authorities, councillor Andres Barrios and about 20 people were with Uribe Turbay at the time of the firing.
