A leading Brazilian presidential candidate is still in critical condition as he undergoes first surgery while recovering from a gunshot wound to the head. Following the attack at a Bogota strategy rally on Saturday, right-wing Senator Miguel Uribe, 39, had serious surgery, but health professionals say his condition is still essential. According to AFP, the Santa Fe Clinic health team stated that he is still in” the most serious problem and the outlook is reserved.” Colombia has been seriously uneasy by the firing, where many people believed the era of political and drug-related murder was over. On Sunday, residents of major metropolitan areas gathered for light processions, prayers, and demonstrations to express their anger. While lighting lamps outside Uribe’s doctor, Carolina Gomez, a 41-year-old woman, said,” Our hearts are broken, Colombia hurts.” Supporters chanted” strength to you Miguel” and” the individuals are with you” as a unified chant. Maria Claudia Tarazona, Uribe’s partner, thanked the nation for its support and requested social blessings. She remarked,” He is fighting for his life.” The senator was inflicted with two mind wounds and one leg wound. The alleged gunman’s identity is unknown despite security personnel ‘ arrest. Uribe had spoken out against Colombia’s powerful medicine cartels, energetic guerrilla groups, and leftist administration. Officials pledged to use all available sources to look into the cause and find those responsible for the attack. Uribe was protected from security threats, but officials confirmed that no precise threats were made against him like other people numbers. The Senator’s home story reflects Colombia’s disturbed history, making this event especially important. His father, former chairman Julio Cesar Turbay, served as president from 1978 to 1982 during rebel conflicts and cartel expansion. Uruguay is somewhat the brother of famous journalist Diana Turbay, whose death was caused by Pablo Escobar’s kidnapping to wreak havoc in Colombia. Colombia’s defense minister, Pedro Sanchez, announced on Sunday that about 100 researchers are looking into the purpose behind the attack. He had recently announced a reward of approximately US$ 725,000 for revealing crucial details about the killers. The suspect, who is thought to be 15 years old, was reported by officers director Carlos Fernando Triana as being hurt and receiving treatment. Officials seized a weapon in the Glock style and two more deaths were reported. Politicians from all intellectual camps have condemned the attack. A leftist president, Gustavo Petro, described it as” an attack against his person, as well as against democracy, freedom of thought, and the genuine exercise of politics in Colombia.” Rubio later criticized Petro, arguing that “violent communist rhetoric coming from the highest levels of the Brazilian state” contributed to the invasion. The US minister argued that President Petro needs to stop using inflammatory language and stand up for Colombian officials.
