Data analyst Harry Enten explained that since his first term in office, Trump’s net approval for immigration has dramatically changed, going from a negative 21 % in 2017 to a plus-1 % level, per aggregate polling.

Enten claimed that the media’s help for Trump’s emigration plan gives him the confidence to act quickly even if it sparks disagreements with Democratic condition leaders, particularly among voters in areas directly affected by boundary policy and national enforcement operations.
Trump is pleading for a battle because he is aware of how well-versed he is in working with the American electorate, according to Enten. Trump is doing well on the specifics, not just the large immigration issue.
Enten’s study is supported by a fresh CBS News poll. According to the survey, 54 % of the general public supports Trump’s most recent mass deportation orders, and 51 % support the operations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in regional areas. These figures represent a significant improvement over comparable polls conducted during Trump’s second term in office.
Enten cited an Ipsos poll that revealed that Republicans had a 19-point advantages over Democrats on the immigration debate.
According to Enten,” Americans think Democrats simply don’t have a hint on immigration,” noting that the GOP’s standing on the topic has increased significantly since 2024.
After ICE officials detained a number of illegal immigrants, many of whom had serious legal documents, including assault with a deadly weapon, great robbery, and attempted murder, Trump sent National Guard troops to Los Angeles over the weekend.
