Following a focused activity last month, the Israeli army announced on Sunday that it had recovered the body of Hamas ‘ military chief Mohammed Sinwar from an underwater tunnel beneath a hospital in southeastern Gaza. According to IDF director Brigadier General Effie Defrin, another senior Hamas part, Mohammad Shabana, the leader of the Rafah Brigade, was also discovered dead at the scene along with a number of other extremists who are still unidentified. A smaller group of foreign reporters was given a tour of the hole that had been found beneath the Western Hospital in Khan Younis, which Defrin claimed was a significant command and control mixture for Hamas, by Israeli troops. A few areas of a few rooms were discovered underneath the doctor, right under the emergency room. Mohammed Sinwar was found in one of them, according to him. Hassana has never responded to reports of Shabana or Sinwar’s passing. Sinwar, the late head of Hamas, and the genius of the attack on Israel in October 2023, was the younger brother of Sinwar. Shabana was instrumental in creating the network of tunnels under Rafah. Israeli causes also recovered weapon reserves, weapons, money, and documents that are currently being examined for knowledge value while conducting the research of the location.
