Sheinbaum, the president of Mexico, responded on Tuesday by denying a claim made by US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem that she had encouraged demonstrations in Los Angeles against immigration assaults, calling the claim “absolutely false.” Sheinbaum responded via social media by posting a picture from her daily press briefing the day before, in which she had expressly urged Mexicans in the country to “act calmly” and condemned aggressive demonstrations. We have often opposed harsh demonstrations, she wrote on X. Noem then addressed reporters at the White House,” Claudia Sheinbaum came out and encouraged more protests in LA and I condemn her for that. Sheinbaum responded by reiterating Mexico’s support for its community and stating that her leadership stands for peace. Our focus is and will always be on the protection of trustworthy, dedicated Mexicans who support the Mexican market and their Mexican families, she said.
