Chengxuan Han is accused of making false claims and contraband items into the US.

Similar allegations against two of her compatriots were brought against her by federal agencies after Chengxuan Han was accused of smuggling genetic material into the United States.

Following allegations made against Yunqing Jian and Zunyong Liu next year, Han, a “visiting professor” at the University of Michigan, was charged with fresh charges against him.

Jian works as a “research brother” at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor’s Shan Lab. She is accused of bringing a grain fungus, an “agroterrorism weapons” into the nation.

Han, however, is accused of “making false claims and sneaking goods into the United States,” according to the Detroit Free Press. The Department of Justice claims that Han’s items sent to the University of Michigan” contained genetic material related to square worms.”

According to the Detroit Free Press,” Han’s give notice from U-M says she was invited because a visiting scholar to the lab.”

Additionally, according to a Court reports release:

Han is a member of the PRC and is now pursuing a Ph, according to the problem. A. from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology ( HUST ) in Wuhan, PRC, College of Life Science and Technology. Han sent four items from the PRC to the United States in 2024 and 2025 that contained cloaked genetic material. These plans were intended for people working in a University of Michigan experiment. Han arrived at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport on a J1 immigration on June 8, 2025. Han was subjected to a false statement about the deals and the genetic materials she had previously shipped to the United States during an inspection that Customs and Border Protection officials conducted. Additionally, CBP investigators discovered that Han’s electric device’s articles had been removed three days before her arrival in the country.

According to the DOJ, she admitted to sending the elements.

The allegations, according to US Attorney Jerome Gorgon, “are part of an alarming structure that threatens our safety.”

According to Gorgon in the media release,” The American taxpayer shouldn’t be underwriting a PRC-based trafficking operation at one of our essential public institutions.”

Following national charges brought against individuals who were photographing a military base in January, the university made the decision to end relationships with a Chinese university.

During President Donald Trump’s first phrase, the federal government aggressively pursued prosecution of Chinese Communist Party penetration, particularly those involving academic and research institutions. Joe Biden, leader, had a tight budget for the system.

According to extensive reporting by The College Fix, numerous experts and academics were question and detained for their links to the Chinese Communist Party.
