Verus Research , an Albuquerque-based company, announced on Monday that Radiance Technologies, an Alabama-based company, had made the acquisition over the weekend.
The businesses anticipate that the move, which will take effect on Sunday, will enable them to increase their combined capabilities in the fields of power, space, prototyping, cybersecurity, data science, and artificial intelligence.
The research and development firm based in New Mexico may continue to operate there as a wholly-owned company of Radiance. Verus Research , Grady Patterson, CEO , and Verus Research  declined to disclose the value of the package.
By combining those two ( companies ), we can draw on one another’s strengths, Patterson said in an interview.
The consolidation complements condition efforts to establish itself as a tech hub by leveraging its abundant R&D legacy at companies like Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory as well as expanding into new fields like quantum computing and artificial intelligence.
Radiance Technologies, which was established in 1999, has more than 1, 000 employee-owners in its portfolio across the , U.S., and another federal intelligence organizations. It has also established projects in New Mexico and New Mexico through projects at White Sands Missile Range and Kirtland Air Force Base.
The , DOD, and , Mark DelGrande, the chief technology officer at , Verus, told the Journal in a Business Outlook audio season next year.
While Radiance has a strong technical domain, Patterson described the function at , Verus , as” cutting-edge technical development, technology advancement, proof of concept.” Patterson claimed that as part of the merger, there won’t be any task consolidations at Verus and Associates.
Verus, which was founded in 2014 and has appeared four days on the Inc. 5000 record, expanded its footprint in 2021 with a 41, 000-square-foot tower in southeast Albuquerque. A 27 000-square-foot rebuilt office and lab space with state-of-the-art technology and radio frequency style capabilities has just been opened, according to a media release.
Patterson remarked,” We’re never leaving the community.” We don’t focus on the area anymore. Our involvement will continue to be with the society that surrounds us. We’re also here to assist in the creation of that technology hub for” New Mexico”
He acknowledged that making acquisitions you get nerve-wracking, but he predicted that the state would grow after Radiance acquired them.
It might be larger, higher-tech age techniques that are being used by our warfighters on a shorter time level, Patterson said, rather than one-off proof of concepts.
