Howard Eady, an artist and teacher in a public school, distributes fake news.
A public school employee who is also an artist recently reported that ICE was seizing a near graduation ceremony on Friday.
Howard Eady claims a local school, which he didn’t speak, was having its graduation ceremony in a popular video that is still up as of right now. He has worked with children for more than 20 years as a behavior intervention and trainer.
He claimed that the TikTok video has more than 10 million views on Instagram, and that it has been 2.5 million views on the film only.
” Gratas, I believe, was having their graduation, and all of a sudden, a number of parents have to leave because Isis [ICE] is present. This is the narrative I’m hearing, Eady said. The name” Gratts Elementary School” is unknown.
However, the narrative is completely false.
Alberto Carvalho, superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District, stated that” no such occasion occurred.”
If you see three unknown vehicles, three minivans, three SUVs driving through a community, you’re going to naturally suspect that that may be a possibility, he said on Monday. According to the Los Angeles Times, he said,” We believe that that may have been the situation.”
That has not prevented the Eady’s Change narrative from becoming popular. The complaint at org continues to receive signatures, even now.
According to the complaint:
The kid I work with didn’t attend college because his home was afraid of ICE, no levels, protection, or actions.
That is not knowledge, either. That translates to pain.
We’re urging regional authorities and school districts to declare in public:
Despite of immigration status, all children should be protected in schools.
ICE police has no position in or around our classrooms.
Families should not have to choose between fear and education.
This is private, not political; it is.
Every day, it hurts all of us when people are reluctant to send their kids to school.
Although it buried a reporting near the bottom that indicated there was no evidence the tale happened, Buzzfeed News contributed to the spread of the fake news.
Since Donald Trump took office and started enforcing immigration law, false news reports about ICE attacks have rapidly spread.
According to previous reports from The College Fix, Loyola University Chicago students confused a survey seeker with an ICE agent, leading to panic.
Secret Service agents and ICE were also confused by a common school in Chicago in January.
