On same day: Massive military parade in DC, 'No Kings' protests sweep US - how the day unfolded
Trump attends a military parade on his 79th day while a” No Kings opposition” sweeps the US.

As President Donald Trump presided over a great martial parade in the capital on Saturday, anti-Trump demonstrations erupted in all 50 US states, honoring both the US Army’s 250th and 79th birthdays. In a coordinated wave of demonstrations under the banner of” No Kings,” thousands took to the streets to protest what they termed authoritarian symbolism and condemn the administration’s immigration and domestic policies. While Trump reviewed his troops and delivered a brief nationalist speech while Melania Trump, the first woman, also addressed, cities across the country saw anxious verbal exchanges between police and protesters. Despite the heavy artillery, helicopters, and army structures, the military parade continued on the National Mall, despite the lack of cloud cover and light weather. To prevent further deterioration of the wind, the occasion was delayed by some time. Military songs played nationalist music, and some service members shared stories of their admiration for the American government. Trump praised the military’s endurance and strength in a short speech. As the festival took position in Washington, national protests grew coast to coast. After officials used tear oil and spark curls near City Hall, where people had gathered, in Los Angeles, protesters clashed with officers. LA also took to the streets for this opposition, which lately saw aggressive anti-immigration demonstrations. A” little party of provocateurs” threw stones, bottles, and fireworks at officers, according to a police spokeswoman, prompting authorities to get the masses to leave. She continued,” We will make arrests if people refuse to leave.” We have been persistent all day.” In Phoenix, a guy waved a gun in the masses before being subdued by police. Yet as officers attempted to separate them, crowds chanted and waving placards in Philadelphia during ongoing streets marches. A pilot was detained in Virginia after recklessly striking a group of protesters, but he suffered no injuries. Officials in Texas were forced to temporarily shut down the state Capitol grounds by a credible threat. Although the circumstances of the incident call for minimal information, one presume was detained. Leaders need calm in the midst of unrest In the midst of the unrest, legislative leaders from both parties pleaded for quiet and cohesion. Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Mike Johnson both called for Americans to defend democratic institutions while expressing opposition calmly.
