Another holier-than-thou instructor who views education as a “political work”
A professor who posted a” This Professor Kills Fascists” warning on social media at the end of next month is being defended by a school district in Washington State.
Olympia High School teacher Ryan Akiyama ( pictured ) noted in the since-deleted Instagram post that he had intended to put the sign on his hydration pack for an upcoming race.
Akiyama even wrote,” Might need to write it on a T-shirt future for all my fellow Awakened DEI teachers also showing up with confidence and care,” according to The Olympic. Yes, I’m woke. Yes, I instruct DEI. No, I’m not sorry if that makes someone wholly uneducated.
Akiyama added that training is” an essentially political act,” but not” the path the neo-fascists in the MAGA movement take it go.” Training is “in the company of E PLURIBUS UNUM, All are created equal, and have equal protection under the law.”
” some” expressed concern about Akiyama’s “fascists” sign given that description of MAGA ( and more ). Brandi Kruse, a critic, pointed out that Akiyama had originally labeled anyone who disagrees with his policies as “fascist.”
Anyone who doesn’t have a 4-th class background information of the 20th century should tolerate this statement from former Akiyama author Kruse on X who wrote,” Every day it becomes increasingly necessary to speak out against the bad of the MAGA action.”
Akiyama, who evidently takes good care of himself, is also incredibly concerned about the safety of officers, specifically those who were attacked by protesters at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The Olympia School District defended Akiyama, noting that First Amendment “protects people ‘ right to freely express themselves, including on individual social media accounts,” in a statement.
The neighborhood added that it “may act” if posts or comments “become disruptive to district operations,” but doesn’t “monitor” employees ‘ social media accounts.
Before joining the district, Akiyama was a principal, but after entering a guilty plea to reckless driving in 2019 ( he was detained on suspicion of DUI, speeding, and possessing a weapon ), he was relegated to a teaching position.
The self people like Akiyama possess not ceases to amaze me. Even though you may be able to publish content on your individual social media accounts at your own discretion, that doesn’t make it appropriate given your situation.
However, we are talking about the school board’s area, which’s head said it’s “entrenched” in” white supremacy” and hired an anti-police activist to fill a position on the board who called soldiers “pigs” and yelled,” f*** the authorities.”
Given Akiyama’s social media record, it seems only natural that the Olympia neighborhood can take action against him if a circuit court may rule that a child’s t-shirt that reads” There Are Only Two Women” ( and thus is prohibited at school ) is “demeaning.”
