After a year-long struggle with breast cancer, Annanda Lewis, a former MTV video jockey and television show number, passed away at age 52.

Before being diagnosed with breast tumor in 2019, Lewis rose to fame on BET’s” Teen Summit” and hosted” The Ananda Lewis Show” in the first aughts.

In a Facebook post, her sister, Lakshmi Emory, wrote,” S]he’s free and in His holy hands. Sleep in your soul, Lord. Emory&nbsp, who was in hospital care at her Los Angeles home, informed TMZ&nbsp that Lewis passed away on Wednesday night from Stage 4 breast cancers.

Lewis was born and raised in San Diego and received his 1995 degree from Howard University. She began her acting career by hosting” Teen Summit,” in which she discussed problems affecting youth and spoke with first lady Hillary Clinton.

In 1997, MTV hired her as a Remembrance, and she soon gained popularity by hosting programs like” Total Request Live” and” Popular Zone.” She was referred to as” the reigning It Girl” of the New York Times in 1999. She left the system in 2001 to start her own speak show, and she eventually became a journalist for” The Insider,” a source for entertainment media.

In a 2020 Instagram post, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer, claiming that she had not been getting examinations because she had concerns about energy and urging her followers to make sure they are keeping up with their breast examination.

What I’m going over will be for it, she said, but it’s difficult for me because only one person decides to find her breast after watching this.

In a 2024 roundtable debate with CNN journalists Stephanie Elam, one of her close friends, and Sara Sidner, a breast cancer survivor, she spoke in depth about her battle with the condition.

Lewis described how she discovered a lump in her breasts in 2019 and how, despite receiving a double breast at the time, she chose to pursue other treatments and concentrate on clearing her body of toxins and mental stress.

She later moved to Arizona, where she combined integrated and standard treatments with methods like insulin-potentiation chemotherapy, which lower patients receive treatment doses because a theory states that insulin causes more of the drug to enter cells. She claimed that due to financial constraints, it was difficult to follow her integrated care plan.

Her scans revealed that the tumor had spread to her back, hips, and lymph nodes by October 2023.

Lewis made a point during the roundtable by highlighting the fact that Black women are disproportionately at risk of developing breast cancer, which he said was in part due to a trust of the health system.

She claimed that “our inability to feel comfortable with physicians goes back.” We need to get over our lawful distrust of the medical sector, but we won’t pretend that it was real.

According to data compiled by the&nbsp, American Cancer Society, Black women are approximately 40 % more likely to die from breast cancer than white women, compared to similar rates.
