Author J. K. Rowling once more demonstrated that she isn’t shy about defending women’s rights in a cooked social media showdown by blasting washed-up Boy George on X.

Rowling’s sharp critique of female ideology:  , kicked off the conversation.
You’ll be positively correct when “persecution” is redefined as” not being allowed to reorganize society based on unprovable feelings, to convince everyone else’s speech and belief, and to acquire rights apart from other guarded groups.” photograph. twitter.com/bONhJRALyb— J. The tweet made it clear that she views contemporary trans activism not as a call for tolerance but as a motion attempting to bypass natural reality and end long-held safeguards for women, which is undoubtedly correct.
Boy George was against that, of course. He responded the following day with a flimsy and offensive attack:
the right to be abandoned by a wealthy, weary drunk! https ://t.co/vTNdexD9Uk— Boy George ( @BoyGeorge ) June 14, 2025
That was an error. Rowling delivered a workshop in disaster that was delivered in a calm manner. Before making a brutal point-by-point comparison that undermined his credibility, she said,” There are many differences between us, George, but some are particularly relevant to this debate.”

1. I’m a girl, and you’re a person.  ,
2. You’ve been a rich and well-known person since you were young. I wasn’t properly known until I turned 30 years old.  ,
3. Rarely have I received a 15-month sentence for beating and handcuffing a man to death.  ,
4. I support the right to free speech and perception.  ,
Rowling was able to introduce George’s dishonesty in only four sentences, draw attention to his criminal past, and affirm her moral authority.
But she had not finished.
She continued, explaining with uncanny precision why her placement is rooted in lived experience rather than privilege:” For more than half my life I was a typical private individual.” Some of those years were spent in hunger. That’s why I am aware of the value of single-sex areas for people who rely on state-funded companies. In contrast to the rich celebrities who presently practice ideological purity for influence, Rowling’s views are informed by the realities of women without power, money, or influence.
She refuted the idea that gender identity should predominate over biological sex, saying,” That’s why I have a problem with people identifying themselves into children’s rape crisis centers, domestic abuse, and poor tents that are supposed to be single-sex.” She made a swipe at female ideologues and their female cheerleaders by pointing out that men, like George, are overwhelmingly to blame for violent crimes, which is why sex-based protections are in place in the first place.

The knife followed.
You don’t have become more reliably or tortuously conformist for a guy who was once all about non-conformity, George. In other words, Boy George, who was once seen as a sign of revolution, now parrots the elite’s preferred phrases, no matter how distant they are from real or women’s health.
Rowling once more resisted being silenced and remained steadfast on process. She has consistently demonstrated that net mobs or blue-check celebrities don’t scare her. She is fighting for the people who have no one else willing to speak for them, and not for the interest, but for the truth.
