On November 4, 2025, there will be a gubernatorial election in New York City. Twelve individuals from all political parties are gearing up for the fight as first election began on Saturday. After leaving the Democratic Party, Eric Adams ( Independent ) Adams is the current mayor and is running for re-election as an independent. Since 2020, Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old condition legislator, was born in Uganda. He is criticized for his views on Israel, but he backs communist initiatives like free cars and city-owned food stores. Since 2022, Lander, a Republican, has been the city’s superintendent since 2022. He has supported liberal organizations like the Working Families Party, but he has struggled to win over both factors on the Israel-Palestine problem. Adrienne Adams, 64, the candidate for city council chair, Adrienne Adams ( Democrat ), entered the race late. She is the first dark man to serve as the mayor of a city council. She is a progressive Democrat from Queens, South Jamaica. Up until 2021, Scott Stringer ( Democrat ) Stringer, 65, served as the city comptroller for two terms. Brooklyn State Senator Myrie, 38, has run a somewhat unflinching plan. Queens State Senator Ramos, 39, is pro-work and liberal. She failed to meet her debate fundraising targets. Former Obama aide and state representative Michael Blake ( Democrat ) is known for his centrist policies. Tilson, 58, is a liberal Democrat who runs against far-left individuals. Attorney Walden, 59, is running as a centrist separate. He has previously represented Cuomo and is known for prosecuting gang. Sliwa, 71, the Republican nominee for president of Guardian Angels ( Republican ) is running alone. He has vowed to avoid Trump and has leveraged Democrat units.
