As part of a comprehensive human smuggling investigation, officials in Iowa have removed 88 children from a summer camp for Bible investigation, according to the New York Post. The Shekinah Glory Camp, which is operated by the Kingdom Ministry of Rehabilitation and Recreation in Columbus Junction, was where the activity took place over the weekend. Many search warrants were executed by representatives from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, and Columbus Junction Police. The children were taken to the local Wapello Methodist Church where they met with child safety officials before being placed in temporary develop treatment. The kids will be in state prison until they can properly reunite with their parents or guardians, according to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. Contributors from across the United States were expected to attend the camp, which was scheduled to work from June 8 to 29. The camp’s owner has denied any wrongdoing. Victor Bawi, whose parents established the government in 2018, claimed that the organization assists both children and adults who are struggling with drug, drinking, or smoking addiction. According to Bawi,” We take care of adults and children who are dependent on drugs, drinking, or nicotine,” Bawi told local shop WQAD8. We look after the children and parents, and we feed them. We keep the people at a distance from the babies. Boys and girls are divided. We give them attention, Babi said, and a Texas girl called the authorities because he didn’t want to be at the tent. We always caused harm to that baby. He claimed,” We loved him.” He added that the camp includes non-just Bible study as well as sports like volleyball and soccer.” We bought him like$ 400 shoes, clothing, and everything.” Deputies even searched another area in Fredonia, where the government allegedly assists people with casing. The temple is led by two Burmese, then Myanmar, preachers who are members of the Chin ethnic majority. About 2 % of Iowa’s hogs are slaughtered annually at a nearby Tyson Foods grow, where many Burmese refugees are residing.
