Render Unto Caesar… Unless It’s Polling Poorly

Watching clergy drape themselves in political theater the second, then cloak themselves in piety the next, has a deeply unsettling quality. &nbsp,

We’re not talking about brave saints who fight repressive regimes. &nbsp,

No, this is not about America’s growing group of sunshine pastors; it is about those whose fortitude only seems to grow when the cameras roll, the winds are hot, and the agenda is trending on X.

They have perfected the craft of divine theatre. &nbsp,

They use the Bible to plan rather than to prisoner. &nbsp,

If it performs effectively, they will march for justice. &nbsp,

They merely render to Caesar when it serves their interests, which is perhaps the most perilous of all.

When Obedience Was a Virtue COVID

    This replay the video.

Many members of the clergy told us that being required to wear masks, shut down churches, and get emergency-use-approved vaccines wasn’t really political duty; it was also godliness at the height of the pandemic. &nbsp,

All faiths converged, resembling CDC pronouncements with more fervor than bible interpretation.

Pastor after priest made stories for closing their temples. They said,” We are loving our neighbor.” They continued,” We’re rendering unto Caesar,” while supporting a state that prohibited gathering for devotion or burying its dead.

Franklin Graham also compared the rollout of the COVID vaccine to” Jesus healing the deaf” and called it” an answer to prayer.”

But then? He is in charge of an organization called the Religious Liberty Commission, which raises questions about ICE attacks and Trump’s immigration assault. &nbsp,

The change is both immediate and perplexing.

The guitar-slinging opposition pastor, Sean Feucht, defied government regulations by holding large-scale, exposed worship events in violation of COVID restrictions. The state can’t show the church what to do, he said in his information. But today? He is not particularly active in worship gatherings for ICE agents who guard our borders. &nbsp,

Obviously, some express activities are more blasphemous than others.

Immigration: The Year of the Rebellion

These same ministers are marching in the streets, locking arms outside confinement facilities, and issuing blazing sermons against “unjust” immigration laws as the Trump administration resumes its immigration enforcement. Many of them had previously yelled” Send to power” only four years ago.

Pastors are immediately quoting Matthew 25&nbsp like it’s breaking news in Los Angeles and other shelter locations. They yell,” I was a man, and you welcomed me.” They are establishing human weapons to defy federal agents from carrying out unlawful persecution, demonizing assaults as assaults on the bodies of Christ.

When federal regulations forbid the faithful from holding arms during funerals, where were those people weapons?

This certainly spare thoughts. This lacks confidence. It’s a religious bait-and-switch, a selective theology, and practical outrage that would make the Pharisees happy.

    Compliance Just When Convenient

Some of today’s prominent church treat the terms of Christ as though they come with a winter pass. This is the problem with them. If Caesar doesn’t have an R subsequent to his name, simply say,” Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s.” &nbsp,

Then Jesus becomes a innovative as the microphones and robes are removed.

Certainly that Christian ministers don’t give a damn about justice. They ought to in every way. However, they don’t believe that the Bible is contextual. If Romans 13 was true in 2020, it’s true in 2025. When a government authority said,” Close your church,” obedience to that power must also be virtuous when the same state says,” Enforce the frontier.”

You can’t deify Dr. Fauci and admonish border guards. &nbsp,

No if your speech asserts to be truthful.

The Great Samaritan wasn’t a liar, either.

Let’s discuss what these ministers aren’t teaching.

They are not preaching about personal accountability. They don’t preach on attempt or law enforcement. And they aren’t preaching the entire truth, as they are convinced as Sunday. The Great Samaritan assisted a traveller who was injured. He did not conceal captives. He didn’t throw rocks at the Imperial soldiers, calling it department. &nbsp,

He was concerned for the victims but upheld the rule of law.

These contemporary ministers aren’t acting like Samaritan. They are demonstrating their activism in the manner of administrative collar activists, offering refuge to conflict while mocking those tasked with upholding the rule of law.

    A Gospel of Consequential Outrage

Look no further than the most recent statement from Christianity Today, which states that nearly 10 million Americans lack documentation. That figure is thrown around as if it were a spiritual slam and a justification for a complete ban on police.

But it raises a more important question: Who did they fail? &nbsp,

    The state, perhaps? &nbsp,

Or did it the Church that, for years, urged quiet rebellion, turned the other means, and now claims that it is all Caesar’s problem?

Because so many of the church today misinterpret love with substance and emotion for theology, it’s difficult to tell what they really believe. They simply engage Caesar when it serves the brand, quote Christ deliberately, and occasionally follow the Bible.

    Final Thoughts

The same trust that previously produced Bonhoeffer, Wilberforce, and Tubman is now home to pastors who post protests on Instagram in front of ICE trucks. &nbsp,

The confidence that after predated tigers is now hidden behind hashtags.

There is a term for that: sunlight Christianity.

When it’s simple, they preach distribution. When it’s fashionable, resist. And solitude when it’s expensive. However, it may overcome this hypocrisy if the Church wants to once again be the morality of the country. &nbsp,

Remember that Christ didn’t sacrifice his life for your software, so it needs to stop using Biblical as a prop. &nbsp,

He committed suicide in honor of the facts.

And the articles don’t change the truth.

Drag kings are then funded by the government, but prayer was prohibited in schools.
