Dear readers, I just returned from a two-week vacation with my home, during which time we were cheerfully conscious of everything but our personal travel plans. After returning home and reconnected with the world’s great broad, I realize that both my hometown of Los Angeles and the rest of the world have been roiled by these two weeks.

Please give me the chance to share what I believe to be reasonable opinions about the Middle East’s present position despite the fact that I rarely write about subjects outside of my area of expertise. The lessons I’ve learned from my job on some of Los Angeles ‘ rougher streets occasionally have software in the international market. One of these is that a bully does terrify his companions until one of them smacks him in the head. We now see that Israel and Iran, having long complained about the author’s several evil proxies, have finally delivered a strong wallop to the head of the snake, which I can only express my gratitude for.

I have no compassion for Jew-haters, no matter how they might try to hide their animosity behind reasoned expediency. How much does Israel been expected to stand idly by as Tehran’s crazed mullahs enhance ever closer to obtaining the means to accomplish it, one must wonder. How much longer do Iran need to attack the United States, as their expressed wish has been, if given the option to launch a nuclear attack against Israel?

And now for the more pressing issues. By L.A. requirements, I was born in Los Angeles, as my father, making me the equivalent of a Bostonian who has his roots in the Mayflower, as some may have you know. I had the opportunity to see the unchecked immigration from Mexico and Central America as a citizen and specifically as a city employee. &nbsp,

Where in the area has this drop been more obvious than in MacArthur Park, where it is more obvious across the city. The MacArthur Park of my children, which straddled Wilshire Boulevard just north of downtown, was one of the city’s jewels, a spot where my family enjoyed picnicking there and rode the sail boats there. Since it has been a hub of violence and substance abuse for years, almost all of which can be attributed to illegal immigrants from Mexico, El Salvador, and other areas north, no reasonable family would take his family that now.

According to what we’ve been told, this is the price we must pay for the numerous advantages of bulk multiculturalism. Yes, some of the strands in the great American fabric may be out of position, but when one looks at the larger picture, what a vivid picture is revealed.

Up until a certain level, this may be true, but that point has been reached.

In my 30-plus centuries as a police agent in Los Angeles, I met a lot of undocumented immigrants who were wonderful, dedicated contributors to this vivid picture, and whose eviction may seem unfair to me. But I’m old enough to recall when our neighborhoods were cleaned, our gardens were mooped, and our generate was grown without allowing thousands of unvetted people to enter the country. If the level of unlawful immigration seen before 2021 had been maintained, and if the frontier had even been perceived as being in question, probably most Americans would still sigh with relief and say,” Well, what can we do?”

The great fabric began to unravel at the edges and lose some of its storied liveliness when President Biden, or whoever it may have been, opened the doors to all and sundry and when a fortnight did not pass without some terrible mind losing his life to the predations or criminal neglect of some illegal immigrant, Many Americans speculated that inviting all those people in wasn’t really a good idea after all.

And that is how we got Trump, as they say.

As it turned out, Mr. Trump’s 2024 campaign had a strong focus on border control. But not in Los Angeles and other” sanctuary” states where governors like Gavin Newsom and mayors like Karen Bass, who both showed their blunders during the wildfires, appear to believe they are empowered to pass immigration laws independent of the federal government’s. The politicos were informed that” the ICE raids are coming.” Their response was,” We will not help you.”

And these same politicos reacted by ordering the raids, which in turn sparked outrage in the constituencies they pandered. According to acting ICE director Todd Lyons and LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, who is regrettable enough, LAPD officers were delayed by two hours in their response to assist when, as was easily predictable, ICE agents conducting operations in Los Angeles were met with violent opposition.

And what did President Trump do when he was confronted by a situation where local authorities were unwilling or unable to assist and in which outnumbered federal agents were killed by mobs? He called in the National Guard and a small group of American Marines. Karen Bass, take that.

Unfortunately, the mayor’s office is not the only place where misguidedness can be found in Los Angeles municipal governance. Imelda Padilla, a member of the city council, questioned Chief McDonnell about the LAPD’s response to the rioting and asked him if he would consider e-mailing him about any pending ICE raids. McDonnell’s response was much more measured than I would have been. He claimed that this was” completely inappropriate and illegal.”

That Padilla is supposed to be told this is instructive in terms of how Los Angeles has come to the attractive position it is now. President Trump has had a lot of luck with his adversaries. How simple is it to appear reasoned in comparison to Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom? It’s a mystery how they, or any other lesser luminaries of California politics, might think Mr. Trump’s gaseous bluster will motivate him to step down. The president’s delight will be rewarded for the long, hot summer’s continued raids.
