A large dust plumes, as high as 10 kilometers into the sky, erupted on Tuesday at the Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano in eastern Indonesia. According to the official site of Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, the eruption caused authorities to lift the sensitive standing to its highest level and resulted in the withdrawal of at least two dozen international and domestic flights. Despite the airport’s ongoing operation, client service confirmed that airlines are being canceled due to specific routes and flight decisions. Jetstar and Virgin Australia flights that fly to different American cities are among those that are affected. Additionally, companies from China’s Juneyao Airlines, Air India, Air New Zealand, Singapore’s TigerAir, and Singapore’s Air India were grounded due to volcanic action. The country’s hazard reduction agency reported that at least one village had been evacuated by Tuesday night after the eruption, which caused lava to fall from nearby villages. There haven’t been any reports of accidents or damage thus far. Lewotobi Perempuan, a 1, 703-metre twin-peaked mountain located on the island of Flores, and Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, a louder volcano, are paired with Lewotobi Perempuan, which is named after the Indonesian phrase for “woman,” in contrast to” Laki-Laki,” which means “man”. The mountain has been active in recent months; in November, a number of Laki-Laki explosions killed nine people and slowed down international planes to Bali. As emergency measures are in place, officials continue to closely monitor the situation.
