Dan Schneider, a former Nickelodeon manufacturer and key figure in the enigmatic docuseries Silent on Set: The Dark Side of Kids Television, has filed a defamation lawsuit and referred to the series as a “hit work.”
Dan Schneider was not charged with being a sexual predator of children in the television set, but there were several interviews with former employees who claimed he had created a toxic work setting. As Breitbart News reported:
According to the documentary, he supposedly verbally abused the cast and crew of his shows and supervised toxic workplace situations where young children were present.
One accuser, a female author for The Amanda Show, alleges Schneider previously told her that he would give her a massage after watching porn on his computer at function. He supposedly made a request for other coworkers.
Schneider acknowledged his unjustifiable behaviour and offered an apology upon the docuseries transfer.
” Watching over the past two , night was very hard, me facing my , earlier activities, some of which are  , embarrassing and that I regret and I , certainly owe some individuals a pretty , solid apology”, he said.
” It was wrong.  , It was bad that I actually put everyone in , that place. It was a bad choice to make.  , I’d never do it now. I’m embarrassed , that I did it next. I forgive to , everyone that I always put in that , scenario”, he continued.
A official for , Schneider , even said , upon the docuseries discharge that his indicates were “scrutinized” by parents and approved by the system.
” Anything that happened on the displays Dan ran was thoroughly reviewed by dozens of interested people, and the system approved.” If there was an real problem with the scenes that some people, then years later are ‘ sexualizing,’ they would be taken down, but they are not, they are aired regularly all over the world today also, enjoyed by both kids and parents”, it said.
In a lawsuit , obtained by , Variety, Schneider, but, says that the docuseries portrayed him in a misleading light by implying that he enabled the sexual abuse of children. His lawyers,  , Jana Moser and Richard McKie, referred to the collection as a “hit work” in a speech.
” ‘ Quiet on Set’s ‘ representation of Schneider is a strike work. While it is undisputed that two blatant child sexual offenders worked on Nickelodeon exhibits, Schneider is also undisputed about having no understanding of their abuse, being not at fault for it, having publicly condemned it once it was discovered, and, crucially, not being a child sexual offender himself. But for the sake of headline, evaluations, and views , — or put differently, cash — Accused have destroyed Schneider’s reputation and legacy through the false statements and implications that Schneider is simply that”, the statement said.
Schneider himself stated in a statement to Variety that he would not be held accountable for crimes he did not commit.
” Recently, the documentary Quiet on Set” highlighted errors I made and poor judgment during my time working for Tollin/Robbins Productions during my early years at Nickelodeon, the majority of which occurred decades ago. There is no denying that I occasionally served poorly as a leader. I will continue to hold myself accountable for that behavior and am sincere apologise and regret it. However, after watching” Quiet on Set,” its trailer, and the reactions to them, I regret not having any other choice but to file a lawsuit against the individuals responsible for it. They went beyond telling the truth and falsely implied that I was involved in or facilitated horrific crimes for which actual child predators have been prosecuted and found guilty, he said, in their successful attempt to deceive viewers and raise ratings.
It’s wrong to mislead millions of people into thinking I was involved in heinous acts like those committed by child predators, but I have no objection to anyone highlighting my failures as a boss. I owe it to myself, my family, and the many wonderful people involved in making these shows to set the record straight”, he added.
