
Atah Othman, a pro-Palestine activist, was detained on Tuesday at the University of South Florida college while allegedly armed with a weapon.
Othman was one of nine some detained, all of whom ranged in age from 20 to 39, according to FOX 13.
All of those arrested were charged with “unlawful assembly”, among other things. Costs beyond “unlawful legislature” included trespass, “resisting an official without murder”, and “aggravated assault with try to commit a criminal with a tool”.
Othman’s costs included “possession of a firearm on college property”, which is a criminal.
The ten people who were detained on Tuesday were part of a group of around 100 people who had gathered and whom authorities had scattered with pull gas near the MLK Plaza, according to The Tampa Bay Times.
On Wednesday, a larger class of protesters–approximately 250- 300 people–marched toward the Plaza next returned to their starting point without event.
WTSP pointed out , there was a reported , weapon threat , on the USF college just before 11 p. m.” but it was resolved by 11: 32 p. m”.
