According to many people of Florida’s Clermont and Groveland neighborhoods, monkeys are frequently seen in their districts.
Aime Krug, a native of Clermont, reported to Fox 35 that she spotted one of the species on the roof of a home on Minnehaha Avenue on Tuesday and was shocked to see it.

She recalled that because she lived in India for several years, monkeys do not frighten her.” This monkey went across the road, and I had to do a double take because I did n’t think it was actually a monkey.

The monkey that was seen on the ceiling appears to be the same one that Groveland people saw on Friday. A animal pro named the animal a macaque macaque.
Rhesus chimps were first introduced to the Silver Springs State Park neighborhood in the 1930s, according to the IFAS Extension program at the University of Florida.
The primates were reportedly present before the 1939 movie Tarzan Finds a Boy, despite the long-held belief that they were released while they were being produced:
In the 1870s, Silver Springs became a popular tourist destination. Soon after travellers began to visit the site, glass-bottom boat trips were introduced as a result of the clear waters produced by natural springs. According to reports, Colonel Tooey, the owner of the glass bottom boat activity, released about six rhesus macaques in the 1930s to entice visitors and raise money for the boat trips. Rhesus macaques are proficient swimmers, but Colonel Tooey did n’t know that. He set the macaques on an island in the Silver River. The monkeys immediately migrated to the nearby trees, where their numbers started to rise. To satisfy tour participants, boat operators lured the macaques to the beach using food. Around 1948, Colonel Tooey purchased an extra six chimps and set them free on the northern shore of the valley in an effort to increase the population.
A monkey is seen running along the street in Groveland behind a high school in additional video footage. When he saw what he initially thought was a rabbit, a gentleman who spoke with Fox 35 claimed to be picking up his daughter at school.
” Therefore when I get nearer, I saw it was a monkey”, he said:

Law enforcement in Clermont confirmed that they had two information from witnesses who claimed to have seen the chimpanzees on Sunday and Tuesday. Citizens were also cautioned by law to stay away from the wild animals.
Social media users were swift to share their thoughts on the observations, one man writing,” Lived here all my life, never knew. This is nuts”.
Someone else referred to them as” Python food.”
In 2022, a gentleman from Ocala, Florida, recorded primates diving into the water at Silver Springs State Park, Fox 35 reported at the time:
