
A bill that would prevent nonpartisan election planks from conducting voter fraud investigations in the position was passed by Democrats in the Michigan State Senate on Tuesday.
According to Bridge Michigan,  , Senate Bill 603 was passed on Tuesday along party lines, with Democratic lawmakers warning that if the bill is signed into law,” there’s nothing that can be done” if election fraud is witnessed or suspected by a committee of state campaigners.
Democrats ‘ politicians argued that law enforcement may conduct investigations into allegations of voter fraud rather than bipartisan election boards.
” We’ve got various areas of law that talk about fraud, that talk about interfering, but when we’re talking about a tell… let’s make sure that what we’re talking about with a recall is the true re- count of the vote”, Democratic State Sen. Stephanie Chang said.
According to The Daily Wire, the state now appoints state boards of canvassers to look into allegations of voter fraud. Two Democrats and two Republicans make up each of the republican board.

By removing the existing provisions in Michigan election laws that grant this power to bipartisan state boards of canvassers, Senators State Sen. Ruth Johnson warned,” Senate Bill 603 ends the ability of local officials to research possible fraud, illegal activity, or perhaps ballot tampering during a recount.” These are the time-tested checks and balances that are present in our system.
Johnson argued that if the state wants citizens to “have belief in the electoral process,” it should not revoke Michigan residents ‘ appropriate to include allegations of voter fraud investigated during a possible tell. The Republican lawmaker argued that the authority granted to bipartisan boards to investigate allegations of voter fraud” should not be taken out of the law.”
The Daily Wire reported that Senate Bill 603 would require a 0.1 % vote difference in place of the current 2, 000-vote difference threshold in addition to prohibiting bipartisan boards from conducting voter fraud investigations.
In response to the Democrat- backed legislation, Republican State Sen. Jim Runestad , tweeted,” Michigan Democrats are terrified Biden will implode and drag them down. So they bet on themselves today and went above and beyond to codify election fraud in state law with SB 603. With only Democratic votes, they smashed through this enormous pile of election-fraud-enabling legislation today.
