Al Sharpton, a sponsor for MSNBC on” Morning Joe,” claimed on” Morning Joe” that Democrats have lost the moral high ground by never condemning the pro-Palestine student protests on college campuses across the United States.
Panelist Donny Deutsch said,” I do n’t care about politics, about worrying about your left flank, worrying about young people. Joe Biden needs to be a leader and speak up and explicitly denounce what is happening here.
This is something Democrats do n’t get in their guts and never do, according to co-host Joe Scarborough. It’s the thing that frustrates me about Democrats. Before I did it, I voted in favor of the war. You know, constantly worrying, also, what about the 5 % on the far, far left that are going to visit me this or that or the other? No. Visit this out. This is bad, visit this out. State, we need to help the people of Gaza. In Gaza, there must be an ending to the threat of famine. We need to put pressure on Netanyahu to reach a cease-fire and release those captives. This undermines our larger goal.
Sharpton said,” Let me say this, the elections of that, what is being robbed by them not doing that, Joe, where you and I agree. When college campuses can have the same images as school campuses, how do the Democrats, and all of us on that part claim that January 6 was a mistake? You lose the moral high ground”.
Co- host Mika Brzezinski said,” Good Lord, do n’t make a parallel to January 6″.
Scarborough said,” That has happened, though. That has happened”.
