
GILGIT- BALTISTAN]PoK]: At least 20 people were killed and 21 others injured after a rider bus veered off a small hill road and fell into a valley in Diamer district of Pakistan- occupied Kashmir’s Gilgit- Baltistan, Geo News reported, citing police.
According to police, the accident took place on Friday at 5:30 am ( local time ) in the Yashokhal neighborhood of PoK’s Diamer on the Karakoram Highway. From Rawalpindi to Gilgit, the van was traveling. According to authorities, at least 38 people were travelling in the vehicle.
Following the accident, rescue team were dispatched to the page of the injury. To a doctor in Chilas were the wounded people and the body of the deceased taken. The dying persons included three people, according to the Health Department producer, Geo News reported.
At least five hurt people are in critical condition, according to Diamer Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Ahmed, who spoke to Geo News and has moved two of the injured to North area. Ahmad claimed that he is in contact with the victims ‘ families.
The crash occurred 20 miles away from Chilas City, according to the standard. While turning a switch or overtaking the bus, the bus collided.
Haji Gulbar Khan, the head of Gilgit-Baltistan, expressed his sympathies for the event. He directed the firefighters and the management to immediately offer medical attention to the injured. A spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan authorities announced that Chilas Hospital has been declared an emergency.
