
In a multi-vehicle incident in Ontario, Canada, an American partners and their three-month-old child were among the four people killed. A suspect in a robbery at a wine store was pursued by police as they drove in the wrong direction.
All four people were pronounced dead at the scene on Highway 401 in Whitby, about 50 km east of Toronto, according to police remarks.
Ontario’s Unique Investigations Unit ( SIU) disclosed that two of the dying, a 60- year- ancient man and a 55- year- aged woman, were visitors from India. Nevertheless, the SIU did not disclose their names. The child’s three- month- old granddaughter even lost his life in the collision, which resulted in the closure of Highway 401 for many hours on Monday.
In addition to the fatalities, the SIU reported that the parents of the baby, a 33- year- aged father and a 27- year- aged mother, were traveling in the same vehicle and suffered injuries. The SIU referred to the mother’s injuries as being significant.
In the incident, which involved at least six automobiles, likewise died the suspect in the robbery of a wine store. According to reports, the fatal car fight began with a robbery at a liquor store in Bowmanville and ended about 20 minutes later when the suspect, a cargo truck driver, led Durham police on a high-speed chase on Highway 401 in opposition to oncoming traffic.
A 38-year-old female traveler in the cargo van suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. On Wednesday, police in Toronto conducted examinations for the victims.
The SIU, tasked with investigating incidents involving authorities- related deaths, severe injuries, or allegations of sexual abuse, has assigned seven investigators, one criminal investigator and one incident organization to maintain probing this situation.
