Anti-Israel activists are attempting to “dox” the identity and personal information of pro-Israel vigilantes who attacked the” Palestine Solidarity Encampment” at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA ) this week.
As Breitbart News reported, after nearly a year in which members of the camp chanted racist slogans, assaulted journalists, and bullied students and members of the public, without intervention by the school, about 100 vigilantes arrived on campus later Tuesday evening and began tearing along the barricades at the encampment. For some days, activists and police battled each other until, suddenly, the California Highway Patrol arrived on field.
Regional Political leaders, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, only condemned the violence and chaos at UCLA after the vigilant assault, which they had previously attempted to overlook.
Bass, and school authorities, have vowed to sue the vigilantes — again, after ignoring murder by activists.
The , Los Angeles Times reports that an army of website” sleuths” is trying to help them by identifying individuals and “doxing” them— yet though, the , Times notes, often the voluntary detectives identify the bad individuals:
Pro-Palestinian groups almost immediately began attempting to identify them when a large group of men dressed in black and wearing white masks stormed into the UCLA camp on Tuesday night.
…
A Los Angeles man who had been identified as one of the attackers was quickly flooded with obscene reviews on his business website shortly afterward. The identities of those who had been identified rushed to set up their social media profiles, turn off comments on their business profiles, and set up voicemail for all calls on their phones.
In some situations, the online doxing was quickly corrected by the correct person’s identification.
Law enforcement dismantled the UCLA encampment Wednesday night into Thursday morning, making 210 arrests. Activists claim that police sided with the pro-Israel vigilantes by failing to stop them the night before.
In reality, UCLA and its security contractors, as well as law enforcement, had protected the encampment, allowing members to assault and harass people with impunity for days, and appeared to delegate security authority to them.
