
With its manufactured in Mexico Ram 5500 trucks, foreign manufacturer Stellantis is scheduled to introduce its first hydrogen-powered car for the American market.
The company’s managers have announced that the Ram 5500 big pick-up vehicle with a emphasis on selling in environmentally friendly California will be manufactured in Mexico and sold there.
” This year, we are starting production of larger vehicles in Poland, and development in North America is expected to follow swiftly, particularly with the huge Ram 5500 in a fuel- cell version”, Stellantis’s Jean- Michael Billig told , Welt am Sonntag, a European newspaper.
Particularly, Stellantis will produce the hydrogen Ram 5500 cars at its , Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in , Saltillo, Mexico.
The Saltillo plant’s employees can make as little as$ 2.54 per hour, according to records reviewed by The American Prospect last year.
As Stellantis has fired about 400 American professionals, it is producing its hydrogen-powered Ram vehicles in Mexico. Engineers are expected to work there from now until the company’s production is finished.
While cutting costs by outsourcing to low- income countries,  , Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares just secured a$ 39 million settlement offer, making him the best- earning auto executive.
