Stormy Daniels, a former US president, testified on Tuesday that Donald Trump had a conversation with her in his motel room in 2006, and that she spat at him at his plea. She later told the jury about the alleged incident, which eventually led to the first criminal trial for a former US president.
Wearing a dark dress and black spectacles, Daniels, 45, said she grew annoyed by Trump’s frequent breaks and asked him:” Are you always this rude and snobbish”?
She said Trump dared her to punish him, and she obliged.
” That’s bullshit”, Trump appeared to state as he watched from the plaintiff’s board.
Daniels had not yet provided testimony regarding the sexual encounter that she claimed occurred at the conference by midmorning. After a bust, her evidence was scheduled to begin.
Trump, 77 and the Republican candidate for president this year, is accused of falsifying business records to cover up a$ 130, 000 payment to Daniels to buy her silence during the 2016 election. He has entered a not-guilty plea and denies having intercourse with Stephanie Clifford, her true brand.
She claimed she first met Trump at a golfing competition in Lake Tahoe. She claimed that he noticed that an affiliate also mentioned Daniels ‘ filmmaking background.
” He said,’ Oh, you lead overly- you must be the wise one,'” Daniels testified.
Daniels testified to the court that Trump’s companion approached her after that day and said he wanted her to have dinner with him.
” F no”, Daniels said when asked how she immediately responded.
After being persuaded by a writer that the meal may create a compelling story, she said she changed her mind.
Trump waved her in his hotel suite while just sporting velvet pajamas.
” I said,’ Does Hugh Hefner know you stole his jammies?'” Daniels recalled saying, referring to Playboy impresario Hugh Hefner.
Daniels told Trump to shift, and he respectfully obliged, she said. Trump’s alleged relationship with Melania, his present wife, was at the time of the incident. Trump denies having a physical relationship with Daniels.
On Tuesday, Trump gave his defense attorney a word and occasionally made an appearance to close his eyes while she was giving her evidence.
Justice Juan Merchan instructed the prosecution to give more information about the face after the split. ” The degree of detail that we’re going into is simply unnecessary”, he said.
Over the concerns of Trump’s legal team, Merchan had recently decided that Daniels would not be permitted to show jurors that she had intercourse with him.
The testimony, according to counsel Susan Hoffinger, was required to complete the narrative and create Daniels ‘ trust.
” In terms of the physical action, it will be just pretty simple. It wo n’t involve genitalia descriptions or anything like that, Hoffinger said.
Trump, running again for president in the Nov. 5 poll, has pleaded not guilty to 34 misdemeanor counts of falsifying business information.
The former mayor’s name was on bills, according to the prosecution. They say Trump erroneously labeled obligations to his attorney Michael Cohen in 2017 as lawful expenses, when they really were reimbursements for the$ 130, 000 calm- money pay, which Cohen had made to Daniels.
That amounts to an illegal plan, according to the prosecution, to swindle people’s silence by selling possible sour information.
Trump’s lawyers have suggested Daniels was seeking a position on Trump’s reality TV show,” The Apprentice”.
Some of Donald Trump’s vile tweets have been directed at Daniels.
Merchan, who is hearing the case, has said some of those articles violated a gag order restricting Trump from speaking about testimony, judges, and others involved in the case if those claims are meant to control the trials.
Trump has already been fined$ 10,000 for breaking a gag order that forbids him from addressing witnesses. If Trump continues to use his problems, Merchan has warned that he might face jail time.
Trump claims that the test is an attempt to thwart his efforts to regain control of the White House from Democratic President Joe Biden and that the joke purchase violates his free speech rights.
The only legal case that will be tried before the election is one that is commonly believed to be less significant than the three others that Trump faces.
Trump is accused of trying to reverse his 2020 presidential victory and of leaking classified documents after stepping down from office in the other situations. Trump has entered a not-guilty plea for each of these.
