The Los Angeles United School District ( LAUSD ) has put together a task force that suggests that local campuses may be permitted to re-enter police at their own expense.
In response to Black Lives Matter and the Defund the Police action, LAUSD reportedly ordered LAPD officers to leave its schools.

Threats and violence are then surging.
For instance, “reported occurrences deemed a danger to school staffers and to undergraduate body…rose by more than 1, 300, going from 1, 994 during the 2017- 18 school time to 3, 302 in 2023”.
Also, LAUSD schools went from 2, 270 reported battles during 2017- 2018 to” only under 4, 800 so far this year”.
The Los Angeles Times noted,” Put another way, during the two whole years since officers were removed from school, incidents of fights and actual hostility rose to 4, 569 from 2, 315, about doubling. And with just two more months of class time left, the figure was still higher, at 4, 786 as of April 15.
The LAUSD work pressure has been gathering data and monitoring the assault, medication- related issues, and more, on area campuses. Many families, who want a policeman appearance on school once more, concur with their plea for schools to be allowed to do so.
