Two agents from Kyiv’s equivalent of the Secret Service were detained for allegedly plotting to attack President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev.
Two generals in Ukraine’s State Protection Department, which is tasked with guarding the lives of the leader and another high- standing government officials, have been arrested for an alleged attempt to assassinate President Zelensky in tandem with , Russia’s FSB, the son to the Soviet Union’s KGB, it is claimed1.
The Russian intelligence company was tasked with locating potential criminals within Zelensky’s security detail, according to the Security Service of Ukraine ( SBU). They were also tasked with holding him prisoner and ultimately killing the president. If found guilty, the two generals could spend the rest of their sentences.
The Security Service of Ukraine ( SBU), with the support of the State Protection Department’s leadership, planned for the implementation of the plans. According to Ukrainian state media Ukrinform, the network included two State Protection Department colonels who “leaked” secret information to the Russian Federation ( FSB ).
