The fight to become North Carolina’s future government is a lifeless heat, new poll released Thursday displays.
The John Locke Foundation/Cygnal poll of 600 good Tar Heel State citizens from May 4 through May 5 revealed that Republican presidential candidate Mark Robinson is still leading Democrat Josh Stein in the race for governor. If the battle were held now, 39.2 percent of respondents said they’d “definitely” or “probably” voting for Robinson, while 39.1 percent said they’d help Stein. The surveys shows 17.1 percent of voters remain confused.
The numbers are concerning for Robinson, who led Stein by 2 points in the pollster’s April survey ( 39.9 to 37.9 percent ). In March, Robinson almost equaled Stein’s lead. Since receiving the honor to take on Stein, Robinson has been the subject of numerous unscrupulous accusations in the internet.
Republican Jefferson Griffin leads Democrat Allison Riggs by less than a point ( 39.5 to 39.1 ) in the race to win a seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court. More than 21 percent of likely voters are also undecided, yet.
Whatever The Corporate Press Says About Mark Robinson Is False.
Republicans ‘ chances of winning both the legislative and presidential elections appear to be improving. The survey shows former President Donald Trump with a 4.5- point lead over President Joe Biden ( 42.6 to 38.1 percent ). Independent applicant Robert F. Kennedy Jr.— who apparently gained much signatures to count for North Carolina’s 2024 ballot next month— is shown to have support from 8.8 percent of likely voters, while 6.3 percent remain confused.
Meanwhile, Republicans enjoy a 4- point advantage over Democrats in the generic state legislative ballot ( 47.2 to 43.2 percent ) and a 5.7- point lead in congressional contests ( 48.3 to 42.6 percent ).
The study also captured the nation’s attitudes toward Biden and the country’s way. According to the poll, a whopping 56.9 percent of likely North Carolina voters said they” strongly” or” somewhat” disapprove of Biden’s job as president, with the vast majority” strongly” disapproving. Just 36.4 percent said they” strongly” or” somewhat” approve of his performance, marking a slight increase from the 34.6 percent who expressed such sentiments last month.
Roughly two- thirds ( 66.4 percent ) of those surveyed believe the country is “definitely” or “mostly” on the wrong track, compared to nearly a quarter of respondents ( 24.9 percent ) who said the opposite.
