
To handle a$ 100 million budget deficit, the Seattle School Board is closing 20 of the city’s 70 secondary schools.
Seattle Public Schools ( SPS) board members approved the plan, which suggested that nearly one-third of the district’s schools could shut down as early as 2025-26, according to KOMO News.
The city reported that because of the continuous pandemic closures, elementary schools are operating at just 65 percent capability.
About two years ago, SPS began to talk about the budget’s relationship with the admission decline.
Seattle Public School’s director, Brent Jones, is hoping to start developing a university closure program with the consent of the table. The plan aims to increase the number of institutions that will be open to 85 percentage.
